Birth & Baptisms
For families who wish to mark the arrival of a new child, we offer a Celebration of the Birth of a Child, with prayers of thanksgiving, and for blessings and prayers for a family as they make a new beginning.
For those who wish to commit themselves, or their children, to a Christian life that includes participation in shared worship and the life of the Church, preparation for Baptism includes multiple meetings with the rector to discuss the creation of a Rule of Life, how the baptismal vows will be incorporated into everyday life, the role of Godparents, and planning some elements of the baptismal ceremony.
There are no fees associated with these services or celebrations. Services can be joined remotely and a recording can be provided for private use only.
Funerals
Most often, service arrangements are made through a funeral director. Our clergy can be contacted to plan and lead funeral or memorial services in the Church or in the community. We are honoured to assist in planning funeral services that celebrate the life of those who have died, and comfort those who mourn. There is a fee of $900 for funeral services held in the Church, which includes the officiant, organist, cleaning fee, and a contribution to the church's operating expenses. Services can be joined remotely and a recording can be provided for private use only.
Members of the Worshipping community of the Church of the Apostles and participants in Parish Outreach programs can contact the church office about scattering cremated remains in our licensed Memorial Garden.
Weddings
The clergy of this Parish are delighted to speak with any couple licensed to marry in the Province of Ontario about how the Church can participate in your wedding and marriage. We are bound by certain limitations:
There must be a minimum of 60 days notice before conducting a wedding.
At least one party to the marriage must be a baptized Christian.
The ceremony will use approved texts of the Anglican Church of Canada or of The Episcopal Church for the prayers and vows.
You will be expected to complete a marriage preparation course, and can discuss suitable options for this with the officiant.
There is a fee of $1000 for wedding services at the Church. This includes the officiant, organist, cleaning, flowers, and a contribution to the Church's operating expenses. Services can be joined remotely and a recording can be provided for private use only.
